The Local Resident Tickets trial is designed to strengthen the Club’s connection with those who live closest to the Etihad Stadium and are most directly affected by matchdays. To ensure eligible residents have a genuine opportunity to access tickets throughout the season, the catchment area was intentionally kept focused, as expanding it more widely would reduce availability for the closest residents and impact ticket availability for longstanding, regularly attending fans.
The Club undertook extensive research and engagement, including consultation with City Matters and City in the Community, and agreed that Manchester City Council ward boundaries provided the clearest and fairest way to define eligibility. While we recognise this means some residents in the wider city centre are not currently eligible, the Club understands these concerns and will continue to review the catchment area as part of the trial.
