Manchester City is conducting feasibility studies to transform the Etihad Stadium into a best-in-class fan experience and a year-round entertainment and leisure destination.
Is the buggy service still available on matchdays?
Yes, the buggy service will continue on matchdays. It departs from the bottom of Joe Mercer Way (inside the Blue Car Park) and drops fans off at the top. From there, fans walk along the pedestrianised walkway to their stadium entrance. Routes have been slightly altered due to redevelopment works.
The service starts around 30 minutes after the final whistle to allow pedestrians to exit the stadium footprint safely. Timings may change and are subject to safety and security considerations.
Are toilet facilities available on matchdays and non-matchdays?
- Matchdays: Toilets are available around the campus and inside the stadium bowl. The City Store toilets are not accessible to fans on home matchdays (except for those with accessibility needs).
- Non-Matchdays: Toilets are available in the City Store for visitors. Stadium tour guests can also access toilets at the start and end of the tour (M2 concourse).
Is City Square open during redevelopment?
No, City Square and its stage are closed during the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons. Fans are encouraged to visit the Blue Carpet area by West Reception for pre- and post-match entertainment, including live DJs, interviews, giveaways, and the Player Arrival show.
Where else can fans enjoy matchday entertainment?

Can fans still walk around the stadium?
Yes, a pedestrianised walking route remains available. Due to North Stand construction, a 400-metre walking route has been introduced around the compound. Fans entering from Joe Mercer Way can expect a 250-metre walk to the North East area and 150 metres to the North West area.
What should fans consider when arriving at the stadium?
To avoid congestion and extra walking, fans are advised to enter the stadium from the side where their turnstile is located.
Where is the City Store located during redevelopment?
The City Store remains outside the West Stand by Gate 11, within the Yellow Car Park. Retail concessions are also available outside both East and West Stands on matchdays.
Are food and drink options still available outside the stadium?
Yes, there are food outlets and bars on both East and West sides. The Summerbee Bar has been relocated outside East Reception, and its licensed area now covers a larger section of the East Stand campus.
When is the Summerbee Bar open?
The bar opens 2.5 hours before kick-off and closes 1 hour after the final whistle. Post-match service starts around 30 minutes after the game ends to allow safe pedestrian movement.
Where are the Fan Support Offices located?
- West Stand: Opposite Tower R, opens at 9am on matchdays.
- East Stand: Opposite Tower J, opens 4 hours before kick-off.
- Both offices close 15 minutes after kick-off.
Have any entrance points changed during redevelopment?
Yes, some entrances have been reallocated:
- Former Entrance A → Now use Entrance C (turret with spiral ramp to Level 2).
- Former Entrance Z → Now use Entrance X (also a turret).
- Entrances B and Y → Entry is via handheld scanners managed by stewards.
